Iowa Legislative Report: Funnel week eliminates some bills

The first funnel week of this session ended, which means each chamber has had to pass out of committee all bills to be considered this session. The funnel narrows lawmakers' focus with less than seven weeks left in the session.

March 3 crops workshop to focus on key conservation tool
“Cover crops definitely are an underutilized conservation tool, especially in Iowa” says USDA Plant Physiologist Tom Kaspar. Farmers are encouraged to attend a workshop in Ames to learn about cover crops and talk to other farmers who have planted cover crops.
