Brent Renner
At-Large Director
Brent Renner farms near Klemme in Hancock County, Iowa and serves as an At-Large director for the Iowa Soybean Association (ISA).
Renner grows soybeans, corn, alfalfa and also runs a cow-calf operation with his father. He has been farming for 19 years.
Passionate about soil health, Renner utilizes strip tillage, cover crops, buffer strips and wetlands throughout his land. He feels strongly in balancing a sustainable family farm while remaining competitive economically. Renner took advantage of the opportunity to get involved with the Indian Lakes Watershed Project through the ISA research team.
Through his leadership with ISA, Renner has valued the accessibility to state and federal political leaders and knowing he can share his concerns with lawmakers. He fondly remembers hosting Governor Kim Reynolds on his farm and sharing a combine ride as he completed his 2019 harvest. He has also appreciated working alongside other farmer leaders with the same goal in mind — enhancing soybean farmers’ competitiveness.
Also involved in his local community, Renner takes pride in volunteering with the Hancock County Farm Bureau and North Iowa Ag in the Classroom.
