Brent Swart

President, District 1

Brent Swart farms near Spencer in Clay County, Iowa. He grows soybeans and corn with his brother, Steve. Farming for 15 years, Swart is the 5th generation managing their land.

Swart implements strip and no-till on every acre and uses cover crops on the majority of his land. Passionate about agronomics, Swart received a master’s degree in crop production and physiology from Iowa State University and works as a field agronomist for Pioneer in addition to farming full time.

Young in his leadership but accruing ample experience, Swart has attended the American Soybean Association (ASA) Leadership College and was an ASA Young Leader.

He traveled to Port of Washington, Grays Harbor, as part of the ISA board and saw firsthand the export process soybeans undergo when leaving the country.

In addition to his roles within ISA, Swart also serves as an Emmet and Clay County 4-H sponsor, a Graettinger-Terril FFA sponsor, a Clay County Farm Safety Day sponsor and is a member of the National Corn Growers Association and Iowa Farm Bureau.
