StoneX offering no-cost grain marketing workshop to Iowa soybean farmers

August 9, 2024 | Aaron Putze, APR

Iowa soybean farmers can take advantage of a one-day grain marketing seminar being offered at no-cost by StoneX.

This in-person event, valued at over $250 per participant, will be held Tuesday, Aug. 20 in West Des Moines. Speakers will share tips for utilizing futures, options, and cash contracts as a part of an operation’s risk management plan. Participants will also learn about crop insurance and how it compliments forward grain marketing and how to develop a marketing plan that includes establishing profitability goals/targets.

In addition, those who have on-farm storage will learn how to leverage those assets to add to their bottom line properly.

Experts will be on hand to guide attendees on how to compile financial statements quarterly and annually to help make smart tax decisions. Participants will gain a new understanding of how to think about grain marketing in terms of profit/loss per acre vs. price per bushel and managing a farm like the business it has become.

To attend without cost, register here and use code IOWASOYBEAN. The conference runs 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. and will be held at StoneX, 1075 Jordan Creek Parkway, West Des Moines, IA 50265.
