An outlook on the soy market

May 22, 2024

The soybean market landscape has changed a lot since the Iowa Soybean Association was founded 60 years ago.

Sr. Director of Market Development Grant Kimberley discusses the current market outlook for soy, and the increase in crush capacity to meet growing demand. Expansion in the biofuels sector has increased the domestic demand for soybean oil.

The state of Iowa continues to lead the nation in crush capacity while increasing domestic demand for both soybean oil and meal. Even with growing domestic markets, the U.S. still relies on international relationships and markets to account for the 50-60% of U.S. Soy that is exported each year.
