Farm safety for soybean farmers

National Farm Safety Week is recognized during the third week in September.
With harvest season already underway in some areas of the state, District 5 Director Corey Goodhue shares the importance of keeping farm safety top of mind. Remember to check fire extinguishers and first aid kits prior to heading to the field, along with communicating with your farm crew about the daily harvest plan.
Whether you are on the farm or on the road, it's important to remain vigilant. Farmers and consumers alike should remain vigilant and patient when travelling Iowa's roadways during harvest time. Watch for slow moving equipment and only pass in designated, high-visibility areas.
