Converting soybeans into asphalt

Soybean oil is often converted into biofuels and cooking oil, but another use is quickly gaining popularity.

Soy-based asphalt is on the rise thanks to Iowa State University Professors Chris Williams and Eric Cochran. Soy-based rubber makes the pavement last longer while the rejuvenating oil helps bind the asphalt.
